Methyl silicone oils，also called dimethicone is a kind of colorless, odorless, non-toxic, and non-volatile liquid. It is insoluble in water, methanol, glycol, and miscible with benzene, dimethyl ether, carbon tetrachloride, or kerosene. It has physiological inertia, good chemical stability, electrical edge and weather resistance, wide viscosity range, low freezing point, high flash point, good hydrophobicity, and high shear resistance capacity.

Methyl silicone oils can be used as additives to many materials. For example, it can be used as a paint brightener, which can prevent the paint from wrinkling and improve the brightness of paint film when a small amount of it is added into the paint. Besides, it can help to improve the printing quality with a bit in the printing ink and it can increase brightness, protect paint film, and have a good water-proof effect with a bit silicone fluids in the polishing oil (e.g. car polishing).

As a processing aid, methyl silicone oils have good flow dispersion ability, which is why it can be used as thermosetting and thermoplastic powder coating and dipping powder, such as PVC, PE, PA, epoxy as a leveling agent in order to enhance the leveling property, weather ability and leveling velocity of powder coating and improve the infiltration effect and surface finish, brightness and smoothness.

It has an excellent smoothing effect, leveling velocity, high surface activity, and excellent final leveling effect. Compared with the common leveling agent, it has a faster leveling velocity.
