The appearance of methyl hydrogen silicone fluid is generally colorless or slightly yellowish transparent liquid. It is prone to cross-linking reaction because of its certain number of  relatively active Si-H bond in the molecule. Under the catalysis of Pt catalyst, it can be used as crosslinking agent for addition molding liquid silicone rubber. Under the action of metal salts or catalysts, it can form hydrophobic film on the surface of various substances at a relativley lower temperature. Si-H bond is easy to break in alkaline condition.

The biggest advantage of methyl hydrogen silicone fluid is its good waterproof effect.It can be crosslinked to form a membran at low temperature under the action of a metal salt catalyst, which can form a waterproof membrane on the surface of various substances. Methyl hydrogen silicone fluid can be used as waterproof agent for fabrics, glass, ceramics, paper, leather, metal, cement, marble and other materials. Similar with methyl hydroxy silicone oil emulsion, it can not only waterproof, but also maintain the original air permeability and softness of fabrics, and improve the tear strength, friction strength and antifouling property of fabrics.

It can be used as the hydrophobic and moisture-proof treatment of dry powder fire extinguishing agent, electrical grade magnesium oxide powder, calcium carbonate and other dry powder materials.

It can be used as a waterproofing agent used for treating various fillers, ceramics, concrete, marble, glass, metal, leather and paper.

It can be used as an important intermediate for the preparation of silicone oil, polyurethane foam stabilizer, and coating flow agent.

It is also used to dilute silicone rubber inks.

It can be used as anti-yellowing agent for high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber.

It can be used as crosslinking agent for addition curing silicone rubber products.

It can be used for soft finishing of fabrics and textiles, such as linen, silk, polyester and nylon.
