The main methods of using Co-Formula silane coupling agent are surface pretreatment method and direct addition method. The former is to treat the surface of the filler with diluted coupling agent, and the latter is to add the coupling agent stock solution when the resin and filler are premixed. Co-Formula silane coupling agent is formulated into solution, which is conducive to the dispersion of Co-Formula silane coupling agent on the material surface. The solvent is a solution prepared by water and alcohol, and the solution is generally silane (20%), alcohol (72%) and water (8%), and the alcohol is generally ethanol (for ethoxysilane), methanol (for methoxysilane) and isopropyl alcohol (for silane that is not easily soluble in ethanol and methanol); because the speed of hydrolysis of silane is related to the PH value, neutral is the slowest, and acidic and alkaline are faster. Acidic and alkaline are faster. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the PH value of the solution, except for aminosilanes, other silanes can be adjusted to 4-5 by adding a small amount of acetic acid, while aminosilanes do not need to be adjusted because they are alkaline. Because of the hydrolysis of silane, it cannot be stored for a long time, so it should be used now, and should be used up within one hour.
1. Pretreatment filler method: put the filler into solid mixer (high speed solid mixer or V-type solid mixer, etc.) and spray the above silane solution directly on the filler and stir, the higher the speed, the better the dispersion effect. Generally stirring in 10-30 minutes (the slower the speed, the longer the time), and the filler should be dried at 120℃ after treatment (2 hours).
2. Aqueous solution of Co-Formula silane coupling agent (glass fiber surface treatment agent): glass fiber surface treatment agent often contains: film-forming agent, antistatic agent, surfactant, coupling agent, water. The amount of Co-Formula coupling agent is generally 0.3%-2% of the total amount of glass fiber surface treatment agent. 5 times of aqueous solution is firstly adjusted to a certain value with organic acid or salt, and then silane is added until it is transparent with sufficient stirring, and then the remaining components are added. In the drawing process, the glass fiber surface treatment agent will be dried on the glass fiber to remove the solvent and water.
3. Bottom method: The 5%-20% solution of Co-Formula silane coupling agent is applied, brushed, sprayed and impregnated on the surface of the substrate as described above, and dried at room temperature for 24 hours, preferably baked at 120℃ for 15 minutes.
4. Direct addition method: Co-Formula silane can also be added directly into the "filler/resin" mixture, and when resin and filler are mixed, silane can be sprayed directly into the mixture. The amount of silane coupling agent is generally 0.1%-2% of the filler amount (according to the diameter of the filler). The resin/filler to which the silane has been added is then modeled (extruded, injection molded, coated, etc.).
