Filler dispersing agent plays a very important role in coating production. The stability of disperse system can avoid many problems and defects of paint film. If the formulation is reasonable, the addition of dispersing agent can effectively reduce the cost and improve the coating performance. The following introduces the functions of filler dispersing agents:

1.Increase gloss and leveling effect

2. Prevent flooding and floating

The use of appropriate filler dispersing agents can improve or eliminate the floating and flooding whether in the tank or paint film. And some dispersing agents are controlled flocculants. Molecular chain contains some carboxyl groups, and paint affinity, will form hydrogen bonds with each other, so that the coating particles stable, and then achieve the effect of preventing floating color hair.

3. Improve the coloring

If the dispersion and stability of coating is better, its tinting strength will be significantly enhanced.

4. Reduce viscosity and increase paint load

With appropriate dispersant, the viscosity of color paste can be reduced obviously, which can increase the loading quantity of coating and improve the production efficiency.

5. Reduce flocculation and increase application property and usability

A lot of people, when they're evaluating dispersing agents, they do rub out test. If the dispersing agent is not properly matched, there will be obvious color difference between the rub out area and the no rub out area. After flocculation, the tinting strength of the coating will decrease, which brings difficulties to the color modulation and coating application. The flocculation of color paste can also be observed by flow plate test.
