If the storage tank of
chloro silane leaks, the risk is much greater than that of process pipe leakage. Because of its large storage, once the leakage occurs, if don't plug it timely, the impact will continue to expand. The storage tank area is often filled with water for cooling purposes. The leakage of chloro silane reacts with water and produces toxic HCI, which spreads around and brings difficulties to rescue work.
The chloro silane liquid can be put in glass bottle, but it must be protected by box leather. Loading it lightly and unloading it strictly can prevent damage by collision. In rainy day, transportation is not advisable. Chloro silane containers should be stored in a cool, dry and well ventilated place. Keep away from moisture, heat and fire, food additives and alkali. When chloro silane leaks, spray soda lime on the floor and rinse with plenty of water, drain into the wastewater system after the washing water is diluted. It can also be rinsed directly with water or alkaline solutions such as caustic potash. When extinguishing the fire, dry sand and stone powder can be used but water is forbidden. Carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, nickel, nickel steel, copper nickel alloy can be used but aluminum, aluminum alloy and brass are forbidden. Polytetrafluoroethylene, polyethylene, polyfluorinated ethylene polymer and glass, but nylon is forbidden.
